Flava Flav Sings The National Anthem: Look + Listen

In advance of the team’s home game against the Atlanta Hawks on Sunday (10.29,) the Milwaukee Bucks enlisted Flavor Flav to perform the national anthem.

During his unorthodox performance, the Public Enemy cofounder appeared center court and took a deep breath before delivering an a cappella of the song that many would agree is not the easiest to sing.

Born William Jonathan Drayton Jr., the famous rapper’s rendition included protracted dramatic notes, and with stadium fans cheering him on, Flav came correct with the lyrics that quite a few singers before him have bumbled when in the national anthem spotlight.

Taking to his X/Twitter, account, Flava Flav wrote “The anthem was a long time bucket list item,,, that was fun!” “I can’t live my life worried about what people might say about me. I won’t let that stop me from trying new things and doing things I wanna do. Some people might not like that. But a sure failure is if you stop trying.”
