Fetty Wap Released From Prison

After serving more than three years behind bars on federal drug charges, on Thursday (1.08,) Fetty Wap secured an early release from prison.

Speaking with his representatives, Billboard confirmed that the musician born Willie Junior Maxwell II, was freed 11 months ahead of his scheduled in December 2026.

In a statement to the iconic music publication, Fetty said:

“I want to thank my family, friends, and fans for the love, prayers, and continued support. It truly means everything to me.” “Right now, my focus is on giving back through my community initiatives and foundation, supporting at-risk young children by expanding access to education, early tech skills, and vision care for young kids and students so they can show up as their best selves. I’m committed to moving forward with purpose and making a meaningful impact where it matters most.” 

A federal indictment claimed the rapper transported 100 kilograms of drugs from California and distributed them in Long Island, and in October of 2021 ahead of his performance at Rolling Loud NYC, the New Jersey native was arrested in New York.

In August 2022 the 34-year pled guilty to one charge of conspiring to distribute at least 500 grams of cocaine, and was sentenced to six years in prison in May 2023.
