After winning the Best Variety Special award for his farewell concert, Elton John Live: Farewell From Dodger Stadium, at the Emmys on Monday (1.15,) the legendary musician recognized much-coveted EGOT status.
Securing an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony, the prolific singer and songwriter is only the nineteenth person in the world to win an award in each of the most prestigious ceremonies.
The superstar singer/songwriter has previously won two Oscars for Best Original Song for tracks in The Lion King and Rocketman, one Tony for Aida, and six Grammys.
In an extremely elite club, the music legend (born Reginald Kenneth Dwight) joins such iconic talent as Mel Brooks, Whoopi Goldberg, Rita Moreno, Audrey Hepburn, John Legend, Andrew Lloyd Webber and Jennifer Hudson.
Unfortunately, due to a recent knee operation, Sir Elton was unable to attend the Emmys to collect his award.
