Officially surpassing Mariah Carey’s ‘All I Want for Christmas Is You,’ Ella Langley‘s ‘Choosin’ Texas’ made chart history this week, spending 23 non-consecutive weeks on top of the Billboard Hot 100.
Reflecting on making U.S. chart history in a video posted to Instagram on Tuesday (9.22), Ella thanked her fans for their ongoing support.
“I’m genuinely trying to find the words to help explain what’s going on in my brain today.” “Thank you so much for loving this song, for listening to it… I’m running out of hyperboles to describe how I feel.”
Adding that the success of ‘Choosin’ Texas’ impacted her life as well as that of her co-writers Miranda Lambert, Luke Dick, and Joybeth Taylor, the Alabama-native said:
“Just thank you so much, it’s changing my life, it’s changing the lives of the writers of this song. It’s changing the lives of my family, and it is truly growing an atmosphere for something I’m gonna be able to do the rest of my life.”
Ending her heartfelt message, the 27-year old superstar singer/songwriter said she was going to toast the success of the song later in the day:
“Today doesn’t feel like a real thing.” “It feels fake and somebody’s gonna be like, ‘Ha ha, we’re kidding the whole time.’ I’m gonna go out and celebrate tonight. I’m really excited to just experience a moment like this in my life. Just thank you so much.” “23 weeks. Texas forever.”
