On Sunday night (7.05,) after a sixteen year absence, Duffy returned to the stage.
Born Aimée Anne Duffy, in June, the British singer/songwriter confirmed an intimate gig at a top-secret London venue on July 5.
The Welsh-born musician was photographed by paparazzi entering Hoxton Hall via the rear entrance on Sunday, and photos published by The Sun and Mail Online on Monday (7.06) showed her being flanked by a bodyguard as she left her car and went inside the venue, wearing a black full-length dress.
Required to sign a non-disclosure agreement before being allowed into the venue, audience members were chosen via a ballot system, and the agreement reportedly banned them from sharing any details about the event or posting photos or videos online, so her set list is currently unknown.
The chanteuse’s top-secret show comes months after Duffy announced she was working on a feature-length Disney+ documentary that will explore her rise to fame, as well as her disappearance from the spotlight after her 2010 sexual assault.
In 2020, the 42-year-old went public with her story, revealing in a lengthy online essay that she was kidnapped, drugged, raped and held hostage for four weeks.
In addition to the documentary, the musician is also working on new music, and in May, she posted a photo of herself in the recording studio on Instagram and wrote, “If only I could find the right words to explain how much I’ve missed you all. Working on coming back to you.”
