Drake’s New Album Competes Against Kanye’s ‘Donda’

As Drake‘s long-awaited ‘Certified Lover Boy’ album arrives, the battle between Kanye West and the Canadian-artist continues.

The rapper moguls on-again, off-again feud started in 2009 when Drake supposedly took shots at Kanye on Trippie Red’s “Betrayal” track and this summer’s been a back-and-forth competition between the two musicians and their highly-anticipated album releases. West’s DONDA was released prior to Drake’s Certified Lover Boy, however, just before it dropped, West apparently leaked Drake’s Toronto home street address to the public.

To promote his new full length – featuring Jay-Z and Future as well as samples from Biggie, Right Said Fred, and The Beatles – Drake put up massive billboards throughout his hometown of Toronto as West retaliated with billboard promotions of his own right next to Drake’s in the same streets.

The ongoing competition was ramped up after the release of CLB, where Drake seemingly called out Kanye in his new track “7Am on Bridle Path.” And, earlier this week, Kanye’s manager confirmed that the pair’s beef could be reignited once again if The Boy bashes Ye on his new album.

To the naked eye, It appears that West’s billboards outnumbered and towered over Drake’s promotional material below.
