In an unexpected visual music move, Drake and Morgan Wallen are ending 2023 with crossover collaboration.
As part of his new “You Broke My Heart” music video, the superstar rapper/writer enlisted the country star for an opening scene cameo, and while dining together at a restaurant, Wallen admits to Drake, “I didn’t like her. I think she might have been the wrong girl anyway.”
Before leaving their table half drunk, the two musicians say “I’m kinda glad she gone” as the video’s female counterparts – aka Grace Matthews and Taylor Morris – take over in an explosive outdoor sequence that shows the two artists getting blown up while driving away.
Released in November, “You Broke My Heart” was part of the “Scary Hours” extended deluxe version of Drake’s For All the Dogs LP, which also included “Evil Ways,” “Red Button,”“The Shoe Fits,” “Stories About My Brother” and “Wick Man.”
Throughout 2023 Drake and Wallen ruled supreme on Billboard‘s ranking of the year’s biggest pop stars. Sitting at No. 10, the Canadian hip-hop artist made the list with two #1 songs including two weeks at the top of Billboard 200, to name a couple. And the Tennessee native scored No. 5 on the overall countdown due, in large part to his 16 weeks atop the Hot 100 with “Last Night.”
