After betting that Conor McGregor would beat Max Holloway at UFC 329 on Saturday night (7.11,) Drake lost $1,000,000.00
What was touted to be McGregor’s first UFC fight in five years, the Irish-born fighter sustained a leg injury at the beginning of Round 1, which led to the referee waiving the fight.
Taking to social media prior to the caged fight, the superstar rapper/writer threw his support and his money behind the Conor, writing “THE MAC IS BACK?!?!?? The proper twelve drinking, tailored suit wearing, Lambo Yacht riding man with the Dubai tan that once had both belts in both hands…Say less.”
In response to his 69-second match loss, McGregor said:
“I was so sharp and so ready for this fight I cannot believe what has happened. The talk of me being off while walking in to the fight is nonsense. I was calm, ready, and confident. I am in shock what has taken place. The devil is literally staring at me right in front of my face here. I am not engaging. I will be at church tomorrow. I will overcome this. I will not be deterred. I will return.”
Had McGregor had won, Drake would have pocketed just under $3,000,000.00
