Come on 15 May, Drake will be drop new music.
On Monday (4.20,), the Canadian musician invited fans to search for a blue folder hidden within a huge installation of ice cubes in downtown Toronto, subsequent to which one keen follower named Kishka was the first to discover the file, revealing Iceman.
On Tuesday (4.21,) the superstar musician (born Aubrey Graham) confirmed the news via Instagram by posting an image of the words “ICEMAN” and “MAY 15” in red and blue text along with an ice cube emoji.
What will be the 39-year-old’s ninth studio LP, the collection follows his 2025 offering, Some Sexy Songs 4 U, a collaborative album with PartyNextDoor, that included tracks ‘Nokia’ and ‘Somebody Loves Me.’
Drake had previously referenced the title Iceman on social media by sharing an image of the now deceased Val Kilmer, the actor, who famously portrayed Tom ‘Iceman’ Kazansky in the 1986 film Top Gun.
Concurrent with his forthcoming album, Drake continues to pursue legal action against Universal Music Group (UMG) over his rival Kendrick Lamar’s diss track, ‘Not Like Us,’
Though his record label’s attorneys ultimately prevailed with their motion to dismiss the case last October, the singer/songwriter filed an appeal the following month. And, in the most recent filing, Drake’s legal team called for the court to send the case back and for the defamation claims to be decided at trial.
