Hip-hop legend Dr. Dre‘s legal status has officially been restored to ‘single’ despite his prolonged battle in divorce court with his ex-wife.
Born Andre Romelle Young, the iconic music producer/artist/Beats inventor and Nicole Young, his former wife, agreed to formally end their almost quarter-century long marriage on 15 April, several weeks after the Dr filed court documents asking the judge overseeing their case to “bifurcate” the status of their divorce in order to pave the way for the former-spouses to move on.
While the presiding judge agreed to sign off on the documents two months ago the divorce proceedings are anything but over as Nicole continues to challenge the pre-nuptial agreement she claims she was forced to sign prior to their 1996 wedding, insisting that she is entitled to a larger share of the billionaire musician’s estate.
After filing for divorce last summer, his ex also accused her then husband of subjecting her to years of domestic abuse – allegations he has vehemently denied.
