Adding to an ever-increasing list of professional accomplishments, for the first time, ever Dolly Parton will be featured in a Super Bowl advertisement as the music legend transformed her classic “9 to 5” hit into “5 to 9” for a new campaign with website building and e-commerce platform Squarespace.
The soon to be televised commercial addresses the effects that COVID-19 restrictions have had on businesses and individuals over the last ten months. “All the nine-to-five people, all of them can’t even go work their nine-to-five jobs now, so a lot of people are working from home,” Parton said in a statement. “They’re building their own businesses online and even the ones that are still working nine-to-five, they still (build their own business) anyway. I thought it was a genius idea for Squarespace.”

Parton’s partnership with the company is not just limited to this commercial, seeing that she is also partnering with the e-commerce platform to launch her new fragrance. “That is actually my side hustle,” she said of her perfume, set to launch this spring. “Squarespace has built a website for that so it’s a win-win for everybody.”
