Dolly Parton Announces 2026 Broadway Musical

It’s official! Dolly Parton is developing a Broadway musical about her life and on Thursday (6.06,) during CMA Fest in Nashville, the country musician star told the audience that she’s “finally developing” the show.

Named after her 1967 debut studio album, Hello, I’m Dolly, the musical is scheduled to open in 2026.

About her autobiographical stage show, the now 78-year-old star said “Very excited about that, so you’ll get to know all my life up to now, and it’s not a jukebox musical,” and adding that she’s been writing the script, music and lyrics for “several years.” she told the crowd “I tried for years, how to do my life story and make it make sense.”

In a press release about the production, the iconic singer/songwriter said “I’ve written many original songs for the show and included all your favorites in it as well. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll clap, you’ll stomp, it truly is a Grand Ol’ Opera. Pun and fun intended. Don’t miss it.”

Not the only project the multi-hyphenate is working on, the 11-time Grammy award winner also announced Dolly Wines, a wine range feature sparkling wines, as well as a rose and a Chardonnay.

Parton also confirmed the opening of The Songteller Hotel (and adjacent museum) in Nashville that will feature clothing items and artifacts from her sixty-year long career, stating “I’ve always wanted a hotel here in Nashville and a museum here.”
