In association with Trafalgar Releasing and Sony Music Vision, Depeche Mode has confirmed the global release of their new feature film, DEPECHE MODE: M.
Following a successful debut at the Tribeca Festival, the film is expected to screen for a limited theatrical event in 2,500+ theaters across 60+ countries as of October 28.
Directed by Mexican filmmaker Fernando FrΓa, DEPECHE MODE: M is an expressive and dynamic cinematic experience constructed around footage from the band’s three sold-out Mexico City shows during their 2023-2024 Memento Mori Tour.
Exploring the profound connection between music, mortality, and Mexican culture, the movie takes the viewer on a unique journey, And, according to the iconic group’s front man, Dave Gahan, the film beautifully tells the story of the deep connection between music, culture, and people through the lens of their shows in Mexico City.
USA Today highlighted how “the theme of mortality is threaded throughout the film, it is also balanced with hope, appreciation and more than a dab of realism,” and New York Magazine praised the film, noting that Frias “uses the band’s 2023 Mexico City concerts to ruminate about art, celebrity, and death,”
With the UK act performing in front of 3,000,000+ fans during 112 worldwide shows, the Memento Mori Tour was a huge success, and tickets for DEPECHE MODE: M go on sale on September 17.
