Effective this summer, Cyndi Lauper has announced the final leg of her “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” farewell tour.
Start July 15 at the Darien Lake Amphitheater in Buffalo and ending with a two-night stand at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on, August 29 and 30, the superstar singer/songwriter’s 25 date trek will open with Jake Wesley Rogers throughout the run.
It was in 2024 that Lauper first launched the “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” tour that marked her first major tour in over a decade, and will also be her last.
Talking about her our in an interview with Rolling Stone last fall, Cyndi said:
“Oh gosh, it’s a bucket list. I haven’t done an arena tour since ‘86. I’m excited because I get to have all these fantastic young women on tour with me. So many years, I was told I can’t do a women’s tour because nobody will go see it. ‘Women don’t sell like men sell.’ Then I toured with Cher and we played for a million people. So bullshit.”
Along with her farewell tour in 2024, Lauper appeared in a new career retrospective documentary, Let the Canary Sing, and earlier this year, she was nominated for induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame alongside the likes of Mariah Carey, Phish, Outkast, Oasis, and Joy Division/New Order. The inductees will be announced in late April.
