Chris Brown Pleads Guilty To UK Brawl

Following a 2023 altercation at a London nightclub, Chris Brown has pleaded guilty.

Addressing the confrontation he had with music producer Abraham Diaw at Tape club in Mayfair three years ago, the 37-year old appeared at Southwark Crown Court in London on Friday (7.24) for the administrative hearing.

During his five minute court appearance, Brown admitted he “used or threatened unlawful violence towards another and their conduct taken together was such as would cause a person of reasonable firmness… to fear for their personal safety”.

The Grammy-winning star’s co-defendant, U.S. musician Omololu Akinlolu, who performs under the name Hoody Baby, also pleaded guilty at the hearing.

Having previously pleaded not guilty to assault and grievous bodily harm (GBH,) the charges were later dropped, along with a charge of having an offensive weapon in a public place.

The court previously heard that Diaw was standing at the nightclub bar when Brown allegedly struck him over the head several times with a tequila bottle.  Taking place in the early hours of February 19 2023, prosecutors claimed the attack was unprovoked, and CCTV footage allegedly showed Brown chasing Diaw through the club before he kicked and punched him as he lay on the floor.

A sentencing hearing has been scheduled for October 26 2026.
