Cher’s Son Hospitalized After Drug Overdose

After being treated for a drug overdose, Elijah Blue Allman has reportedly been discharged from the hospital.

Editors at TMZ formerly reported that the son of Cher and the late musician Gregg Allman,- had been rushed to a Southern California hospital after emergency services responded to a call about a man “behaving erratically”.

A spokesperson for the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department (SBCSD) subsequently stated that “deputies located drugs inside the home” and an investigation was ongoing.

On Sunday (6.22,) insiders confirmed to outlet that the now 48-year old Elijah had returned to his property near Joshua Tree and “continues to recover”.

And while Cher has not yet commented on her son’s health, sources told TMZ that the the legendary songstress is “doing everything she can to get him the help he needs”.

Voiced her support for her former spouse, Elijah’s estranged wife, Marieangela King, issued the following statement to People:

“I want to state, without hesitation, that I will always root for him.” “My support is steadfast and comes from a place of deep respect for the person he is and the resilience he continues to show.”

Responding to Elijah prior struggles with substance abuse, in 2023 Cher filed for a temporary conservatorship over he son in a bid to take control of his personal and financial affairs.  However, the motion for a was dismissed in early 2024, with an attorney confirming that the matter had been “privately resolved” via mediation.

At press time, representatives for Elijah Blue Allman have not yet responded to the report of his overdose.
