On Monday (3.04,) it was confirmed that Cher will receive the Icon Award at the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards on 1 April from the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.
The radio mega-conglomerate’s formal press release stated that iHeart is “honoring her unparalleled contributions to music and pop culture for over seven decades.”
Selling more then 100 million records during her expansive career, the now 77-year-old iconic chanteuse is the only artist to have secured a #1 Billboard chart single for seven consecutive decades.
Justin Timberlake, Jelly Roll, Tate McRae, Green Day, Lainey Wilson, and TLC will perform at the iHeartRadio Music awards.
In addition to her iHeart award, Cher is one of this year’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nominees, including Mariah Carey, Mary J. Blige, Lenny Kravitz, Sinéad O’Connor, Ozzy Osbourne, Kool & the Gang, and Oasis.
Previous recipients of the iHeartRadio Music award include Elton John, Jennifer Lopez, Bon Jovi and Pink.
