Charlie XCX Confirms New LP + More

In preparation for the July 24 release of Music, Fashion, Film, Charli XCX announced her seventh studio album in a social media post.

Containing eleven songs and the project’s 30:05 run time, the British born hitmaker took to Instagram on Monday (6.01,) to confirm the news along with the black and white cover art featuring the musician and producer John Cale, fashion designer Marc Jacobs and acclaimed filmmaker Martin Scorsese.

Preempting the album, in early-May the singer/songwriter (born Charlotte Emma Aitchison) dropped the singles ‘Rock Music’ and ‘SS26,’ with fans and critics noting that the tracks appear to move away from her signature Auto-Tune-heavy sound in favor of a more organic approach.

The 33-year old songstress’ announcement also comes shortly after her full cinematic soundtrack album to accompany Emerald Fennell’s film adaptation of Wuthering Heights, starring Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi.

Alongside her latest music news, this year Charli starred in The Moment, an A24 mockumentary in which she plays a fictionalized version of herself navigating the pressures of pop stardom following the release of her smash hit album Brat.

Released in 2024, Brat enjoyed critical and commercial success, evolving into a wider cultural phenomenon, topping charts in several countries and earned the musician three Grammy Awards.
