For her new single, Charli XCX teams up with Rina Sawayama on “Beg for You.”
Produced by Britain’s Digital Song Animal, the track from Charli XCX’s upcoming Crash album (due March 18) features a sample of Petra Marklund’s “Cry for You.” Performed under the moniker September the two divas exchange verses about missing their respective loves, reminiscing about the intimate moments of days gone by, as Charli (born Charlotte Emma Aitchison) sings “Oh don’t you leave me this way/Won’t you wait another hour or two.” “You know I need you to stay/Don’t make me beg for you, ’cause I’ll beg for you.”
The singer/songwriter’s current offering follows her previously released LP song “New Shapes,” Charli’s November 2021 collaboration with Caroline Polachek and Christine and the Queens that dropped.
Charli XCX is set to embark on a North American tour come March 26 with a two-night stint at Fox Theatre, in Oakland, California, ending on April 29 at Aragon Ballroom in Chicago with the European leg of the tour running May through June.
