As a surprise guest during her concert in Inglewood, California, Olivia Rodrigo brought out Chappell Roan on Tuesday night (8.20) at the Intuit Dome to perform her song ‘Hot to Go!’
Prior to introducing Roan, Rodrigo told her audience “I think she is one of the most singular, inspiring, powerful artists I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting, and I’m so excited because she’s gonna sing one of my favorite songs of all time.”
After strutting across the stage and giving Olivia a hug, Chappell said, “We’re gonna sing a song, and we’re gonna teach you a dance,” subsequent to which they sang her 2023 single together along with arm movements to the chorus.
Their live duet marks a full-circle moment for the superstar singers, with Chappell opening for Olivia on the first U.S. leg of her Guts World Tour between February and April.
Thanks to the success of her ‘Good Luck, Babe!’ single, Roan has since skyrocketed to fame with performances at Coachella, Bonnaroo, Governors Ball and Lollapalooza, and given her popularity several festival organizers have moved the American singer/songwriter to bigger stages in order to accommodate her fans.
Despite being released in September of 2023, Roan’s debut LP The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess, reached #1 on the U.K. album chart and #2 on the Billboard 200 just last week.
