Celine Dion Calls Out Donald Trump

Celine Dion said that she did not authorize or condone Donald Trump‘s use of ‘My Heart Will Go On’ and that it was played at a Montana campaign rally without her permission.

On Saturday (8.10) the superstar’s management team took to X and released the following statement condemning Trump’s use of the song in support of his political aspirations:

“Today, Celine Dion’s management team and her record label, Sony Music Entertainment Canada Inc., became aware of the unauthorized usage of the video, recording, musical performance, and likeness of Celine Dion singing ‘My Heart Will Go On’ at a Donald Trump / JD Vance campaign rally in Montana.” “In no way is this use authorized, and Celine Dion does not endorse this or any similar use. …And really, THAT song?”

According to Variety, while Trump has played the Dion classic at prior political events, because he chose to also show a video of Celine performing the famous Titanic single during Friday’s rally, the republican candidate and his running mate could face legal consequences.

The aforementioned news came shortly after the Canadian-born musician closed out the opening ceremony at the Paris Olympics, singing Hymne à L’Amour by Édith Piaf atop of the Eiffel Tower.
