On September 08, Carrie Underwood kicked off the 2023 season of Sunday Night Football with a rousing rendition of “Waiting All Day for Sunday Night.”
Marking the country music superstar’s 11th consecutive season as the voice of NBC’s Sunday evening NFL game, Underwood sashayed down the catwalk and behind the drum kit as she performed.
In a statement about her latest launch, in advance of the New York Giants hosting the Dallas Cowboys game, Carrie said “Once again, the incredible Sunday Night Football team came up with a fresh, exciting visual concept that really gave us a chance to play,” as the opening featured her Las Vegas performance. “I loved shooting the show open again this year at our home away from home, The Resorts World Theatre in Las Vegas, and can’t wait for another season of football!” she added.
In addition to her current football promo duties, the former American Idol winner released a deluxe edition of her album Denim & Rhinestones, and in August she joined Guns N’ Roses onstage in Nashville to perform “Sweet Child O’ Mine” and “Paradise City” with singer Axl Rose.
The Oklahoma native recently talked about her love of hard rock in a special SiriusXM interview that combined her satellite radio channel, Carrie’s Country, with SiriusXM’s heavy rock channel, Octane.
