For the second single from Am I The Drama?, her highly anticipated second studio LP, Cardi B drops ‘Imaginary Playerz,” along with the video co-directed by the artist herself and longtime creative partner Patience Foster.
Produced by DJ SwanQo, Sean Island, and OctaneThisThatGas, the rapper’s latest anthem samples Jay-Z‘s ‘Imaginary Player’ classic.
Taking to X Space earlier this week, the superstar (born Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar) wrote about getting the music mogul’s seal of approval “I was so happy because you guys understand, the song is kinda long… This song is like a staple for me and I had to get it approved by the one and only.” “It’s a very hip-hop record and I hope you guys enjoy it.”
Through her joint venture, the singer already sold out multiple limited-edition merchandise box sets, including a headline-grabbing WWE collaboration. The newly launched Imaginary Playerz box set and alternate album cover art are available now – but only in limited quantities at CardiB.com.
On August 2, Cardi made her hosting debut at SummerSlam at which time she previewed new music. That same week, she released ‘Outside,’ the first single from Am I The Drama?, which debuted in the Top 10 on Billboard’s Hot 100 Top 10 – her 13th Top 10 hit – and peaked #1 on Apple Music, marking her first chart-topper since the multi-platinum ‘Up.’
Am I The Drama? is released on September 19.
