Britney Spears Want to Cover Beyoncé’s ‘Daddy Lessons’

In her Monday (10.09) Instagram post, Britney Spears confirmed her interest in covering ‘Daddy Lessons,’ Beyoncé’s 2016 single, complete with an all-new rap verse courtesy of Jay-Z.

Along with the video of the embattled pop star dancing to the original song in a revealing purple body suite, Spears captioned “So many people have done remixes to my songs without my knowledge,” “So I guess it’s safe to say I will be redoing this song eventually!” “Just need to meet Jay-Z and add a rap to it… what’s up?”

Debuting and peaking at #41 on the Billboard Hot 100 seven years ago, the country-oriented song was included in Beyoncé’s award-winning Lemonade album.

Not the first time the song has been re-released, the ‘Daddy Lessons’ remix featuring The Chicks was cut in 2016 and performed live at the 50th annual Country Music Association Awards.

In September, Britney pay homage to fellow pop icon Shakira by mimicking the singer’s knife-wielding Video Vanguard performance at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards.
