Britney Spears’ Longtime Manager, Larry Rudolph, Calls It Quits

Longtime Britney Spears‘ manager, Larry Rudolph, has formally has resigned.

In the midst of her conservatorship fight, stating that the pop singer intends to officially retire, the ex-manager said “It has been over 2.5 years since Britney and I last communicated, at which time she informed me she wanted to take an indefinite work hiatus,” said Rudolph, 57, in an official resignation letter. “Earlier today, I became aware that Britney had been expressing her intention to officially retire.”

Of their 25 years together, her former representative stated, “I was originally hired at Britney’s request to help manage and assist her with her career.” “And as her manager, I believe it is in Britney’s best interests for me to resign from her team as my professional services are no longer required.” The letter was written to Jamie Spears, Britney’s 68-year-old father, and attorney Jodi Montgomery, the co-executors of the estate of Britney Spears.

Larry Rudolph distanced himself from Spears’ 13-year conservatorship, which he described in court as “abusive” and similar to “sex trafficking.” “As you know, I have never been a part of the conservatorship or its operations, so I am not privy to many of these details.” Rudolph, who also manages Aerosmith and the band’s lead vocalist, Steven Tyler, stated, “I will always be incredibly proud of what we accomplished over our 25 years together.” “I wish Britney all the health and happiness in the world, and I’ll be there for her if she ever needs me again, just like I always have.”

Since 1995, Rudolph has worked with Spears, negotiating her first recording contract and championing her through a spectacular ascent to stardom following her breakthrough hit, “…Baby One More Time.” He took a sabbatical during the musicians most difficult moments in 2007 and 2008, when the artist was placed under conservatorship following her public breakdown, but returned to manage her recovery, which included a lucrative residency in Las Vegas.

In addition to Larry Rudolph, Britney’s court-appointed current attorney, Samuel D. Ingham III, has also announced his resignation.
