Days prior to her upcoming DUI hearing, Britney Spears recently checked out of the rehabilitation facility she entered on April 12, after being arrested in California on March 4, when her BMW was seen speeding and swerving between lanes.
Following a conversation with her sons, Preston (20,) and Jayden (19,) the embattled pop star decided to seek treatment.
“Britney went to rehab after several conversations with both of her sons.” “They expressed concern about her recent behaviour and urged her to seek professional help, which has been long overdue, to get her back on track. All they’ve ever wanted for their mom is health and happiness, even during the years they were estranged. They hope she’ll take it seriously,” said a source to US Weekly in April.
Officially charged with Driving Under the Influence, with her hearing scheduled for May 4 at the Ventura County Superior Court, it’s not clear whether the now 44-year-old songstress will make an in-person appearance.
“Whether or not Ms Spears will appear at the hearing will be a decision made between her and her attorney.” “Since it is a misdemeanor charge, she is not required to attend, and her attorney can make the appearance for her,” stated the District Attorney’s office explained.
