Following fourteen months of marriage, Britney Spears and Sam Asghari have formally divorced.
In August of 2023, the actor and personal trainer filed for divorce from the pop star and according to TMZ, the former couple filed documents at a Los Angeles court on Wednesday night (5.01.) Their divorce will be final as soon as the judge has signed off on the paperwork.
In 2016, Spears (42) met Sam (30) on the set of her ‘Slumber Party’ music video. The couple were engaged in 2021, and after executing a prenuptial agreement, the two got married at Britney’s home in California in June 2022.
Regardless of initial reports claiming that Sam would contest the prenup, the current documents confirm that each party maintained the terms of the agreement in their divorce settlement.
According to Page Six, Britney will keep the money she earned prior to, during and after their marriage and she will also keep the “miscellaneous jewelry” and other personal items.
The exes had already reached an agreement on how to divide their five dogs, with Sam keeping a Doberman named Porsha and Britney becoming the sole owner of her four other canines.
Sam was Britney’s third husband. She was previously married to childhood friend Jason Alexander for 55 hours in 2004 and dancer Kevin Federline, the father of her sons Sean Preston and Jayden James, between 2004 and 2007.
