Prior to being arrested for a DUI, Britney Spears told a police officer that she could “drink four bottles of wine.” And, according to the police report obtained by Page Six, the embattled singer admitted that she’d taken several prescription drugs.
After she was seen swerving in and out of lanes, the now 44-year-old the pop superstar was arrested in March, and the police officer who apprehended her said how they’d asked the singer if she’d taken any medication or drugs before driving the car.
According to the report Spears said she’d taken 200mg of Lamictal, the prescription drug used as a mood stabilizer for adults with bipolar disorder, plus 40mg of antidepressant Prozac, and 2.5 mg of ADHD medication Adderall.
“He also observed an empty wine glass in the cup holder between the front driver seat and the passenger seat,” stated the police report.
When asked if she had consumed any alcohol before driving, Britney said that she had one mimosa “around 2 pm.”
When questioned about her current level of intoxication out of a scale of zero to ten, she replied “zero” before saying, “I could probably drink four bottles of wine and take care of you, I’m an angel,” she replied.
“Her speech was rapid and slurred, her gait was unsteady, and she was fidgeting with her fingers,” stated the police report.
Staying for less than a month, Britney Spears checked into rehab on April 12 for substance abuse.
