In an attempt to cope with omnipresent heartache, Britney Spears has admitted to sometimes drinking.
Claiming she was “100% abused,” the embattled songstress recently opened up about her past conservatorship and emotional struggles.
Featuring a golden chalice and photos from prior magazine shoots taken during her conservatorship, the now 42-year old pop star shared a post reflecting on how she was “controlled” during the legal arrangement, claiming she was “abused” whenever she tried to speak out.
In her own writing, Spears stated “I don’t like drinking.” “I do it for my heart when it’s been through too much but I’m weird. I take on a lot of pain. I honestly shouldn’t, and I put in a lot of work people will never see.” “I was in a business that preyed over the innocent and controlled where I went, who I saw, what I ate, which is 100% unfair, and if I spoke up I was abused and I never did anything wrong!!!”
Primarily overseen by her father, Jamie Spears, the conservatorship lasted from 2008 to 2021 and Britney repeatedly spoke out against her treatment during that time, adding that she was forced to take medication and undergo medical procedures against her will.
On Thursday (3.06,) Spears also shared that the only time she ever felt “beautiful” in a photoshoot was when she worked with photographer Ellen Von Unwerth in New York.
Having recently rekindled her relationship with her former housekeeper, Paul Soliz, following her divorce from Sam Asghari in 2023, Ms Spears latest comments come as she continues to navigate life post-conservatorship.
