Admitted to a hospital in Portugal’s Algarve region, where the songstress owns a home, Bonnie Tyler has undergone emergency surgery.
Taking to her official website on Wednesday (5.06,), news of the iconic musician’s health scare was confirmed in the following statement:
“We are very sorry to announce that Bonnie has been admitted to hospital in Faro, Portugal, where she has a home, for emergency intestinal surgery.” “The surgery went well, and she is now recuperating. We know that all of her family, friends, and fans will be concerned about this news and will be wishing her well for a full and swift recovery.”
Though no official reason for the surgery was shared with the public, the Daily Mail in England reported that the singer suffered a perforated intestine after experiencing severe abdominal pain.
Tyler’s health issues surface as the 74-year old prepares for a busy 2026, with a European tour scheduled to launch in Malta on May 22.
Addressing her good health and her desire to continue performing weeks before her hospitalization, in a March interview with Hello! magazine, the Wales-born legend said:
“I’m fit enough at the moment, touch wood, and I’m really enjoying doing the shows.””I’m still rocking on that stage with my wonderful band, and if you’ve got your health, you’ve got everything.”
