During last night’s Saturday Night Live sketch, a fictitious Bone Thugs-N-Harmony open up a pet store called Dog Bones-N-Melodies.
Courtesy of SNL’s Kenan Thompson, Ego Nwodim and Chris Redd alongside host Jonathan Majors “Tha Crossroads” rap group announce the “next phase of their career” by “Bringing real ass bones to real ass dogs.”
The comedy quartet deliver bone-themed renditions of classic Bone Thugs-N-Harmony’s hit to showcase their pet store’s selection including bones of all shapes and sizes, dinosaur bones, those fish bones that alley cats eat in cartoons, funny bones, and femurs. Though the store doesn’t offer any other pet supplies other than bones, each bone purchase is also accompanied by an impromptu performance by Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, whether or not the customer wants it.
As coincidence would have, last night’s skit arrived the same day that the real group’s Layzie Bone announced that his legendary rap group will take on Three 6 Mafia on the 12.02.21 installment of Verzuz.
