Billy Joel Betrayed By Manager

Billy Joel‘s just released documentary blows the lid off a multimillion-dollar lawsuit the piano man filed in 1989 against his former manager, Frank Weber.

As part of HBO’s Billy Joel: And So It Goes biography, the five-time Grammy winner was “furious” as he addressed the moment he realized his colleague and confidant had been using up his hard-earned money.

Now 76-years old, the iconic singer/songwriter said:

“I found out I didn’t have any of the money I should have.” “It hit me like a ton of bricks.” Explaining that the discovery left him anxious about having to start from scratch to recoup his losses, Joel added:

“It was a very depressing thing,” “When I found out that my money was pretty well-spent, I was furious. I realized I gotta start all over again. I gotta go right back to writing new songs, recording new songs and go out on the road and try to make that money back.”

After filing a lawsuit against Weber for $90,000,000.00, the musician eventually settled out of court.

Explaining that creative people often failed to stay on top of their finances, Billy pointed out that his situation was not uncommon, stating “We’re not financially oriented.” “It wasn’t about the money. It was about being a musician. I didn’t like thinking as a businessman. I wanted to be an artist.”
