On Sunday night (9.04) during Jazz Aspen Snowmass, the Foo Fighters brought Billy Idol to the stage to perform a high energy cover version of “Pretty Vacant” by the Sex Pistols.
Headlining the Labor Day weekend concert, Idol joined frontman Dave Grohl for the 1977 single from the band’s only studio album Never Mind the Bollocks, Here’s the Sex Pistols.
Not the first time the two rockers worked together, Grohl and Idol last met on stage in 2018 when they performed John Lennon’s “Gimme Some Truth” at the Welcome to Rockville festival, that was headlined by Ozzy Osbourne, Avenged Sevenfold, and the Foo Fighters in Daytona Beach, Florida.
Marking the iconic venue’s 44th anniversary, In May the Foo Fighters christened the replica of of D.C.’s Storied 9:30 Club, For the club’s opening run of shows, the band was joined by the likes of Idol, Gary Clark Jr., the Pixies and Maggie Rogers.
