Having recently discovered a secret son named Brant who was born in the 1980s, Billy Idol recently addressed his “promiscuous” past that led to the arrival of an unexpected child.
After a genealogy test connected a member of his family to Brant, who was looking to track down his biological father, the now 69-year-old punk rocker was informed of the unexpected news.
When asked by iNews if he was shocked to learn he had a child, the iconic musician replied:
“Maybe a little bit, but the more I thought about it, I guessed there must be something like that.” “We were going around in the 80s, and 70s, just having knockdown, drag-out sex with a million people you didn’t know.” “A lot of people in the rock world got children beyond their usual relationship.”
In addition to Brandt, the artist (born born William Michael Albert Broad) is also the father to 37-year-old son Willem Wolfe Broad, who he shares with ex-partner Perri Lister, and 35-year-old daughter Bonnie Blue Broad, who he shares with with ex-partner Linda Mathis.
Brant was discovered when Bonnie took a 23andMe DNA test and learned she had an unexpected half-brother. And, discussing the son he conceived during his 1985 Rebel Yell Tour, Billy said “We’re quite good friends, and I love him. He’s a nice guy.”
