Tina Knowles, the mother Beyoncé is planning a tour to promote her new memoir.
Taking to social media, Knowles announced the news via Instagram with a flyer of upcoming events that start on April 30 with a session in Washington DC (moderated by former First Lady Michelle Obama,) followed by eight North American dates, and ending the tour in London on June 4.
In a formal statement about her forthcoming plans, Tina said “I’m so excited to take Matriarch on the road and extend the conversation beyond the pages.” “Storytelling has always been a part of who I am – something I learned from my mother – and now, at 71, I finally understand who I truly am.” “This journey has been about strength, motherhood, family pride and identity, and I hope these conversations help others embrace their own stories and celebrate the power of knowing what we deserve.”
It was in October of 2024 that Beyoncé’s mom first announced Matriarch: A Memoir, with a synopsis that billed her book as “a multi-generational family saga that carries within it the story of America – and the wisdom that women pass on to each other, mothers to daughters, across generations”.
