On Christmas Day, Beyoncé is slated to sing at halftime during a National Football League (NFL) match.
On Monday (11.18,), Netflix announced that the superstar singer will perform amid the streaming service giant’s first-ever NFL Christmas Gameday live on December 25.
Queen Bey’s slot will take place during the second of Netflix’s two games, when the Houston Texans face off against the Baltimore Ravens at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas.
Confirming her involvement, Beyoncé took to social media with a short teaser on Instagram showing her standing atop of a car covered in red roses while wearing a cowgirl-inspired outfit and matching hat and catching a tossed football.
While the lion’s share of details of her hometown gig are as-of-yet undisclosed, the now 43-year-old icon is expected to feature several special guests from her Cowboy Carter LP that was released in March. And her halftime show will mark the first time Beyoncé has performed songs from the full length live.
About the event, a Netflix representative stated “With Netflix and Beyoncé, the NFL kicks off what is expected to be a new holiday tradition as the streaming giant has announced NFL games for 2025 and 2026,”
Not the first time the chanteuse is involved with the NFL, Mrs Carter performed at two prior games when she headlined the Super Bowl XLVII in New Orleans in 2013, where she was joined by her Destiny’s Child bandmates, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams. She also appeared alongside Coldplay and Bruno Mars in Santa Clara, California for Super Bowl 50 in 2016.
Since 2019, Beyoncé’s husband, JAY-Z, has served as the NFL’s live music entertainment strategist.
