Beyoncé Drops 2 New Singles: Look + Listen

On Sunday (2.11,) during her Super Bowl commercial with Verizon, Beyoncé announced her forthcoming album, and following her tongue-n-cheek failed attempts to break the internet, she ended the clip with “Drop the music.”

Moments after the TV advert aired, Beyoncé took to Instagram and confirmed that her eighth studio album, Act II (the second installment of her three-part Renaissance project) will be released March 29.

Preempting her forthcoming full length, on Sunday Queen Bey also released the first two songs, “Texas Hold ‘Em” and “16 Carriages,” from what sounds like a country-inspired project.

Compared to prior years, Act II marks a much faster turnaround for new music as Renaissance, came out in July of 2023, seven years since 2016’s Lemonade.

The superstar’s Renaissance world tour kicked off in Sweden in May followed by the North American leg that began in Toronto in July. The show focused on material from her album of the same name, interwoven with favorite gems from her earlier LPs. Her shows were subsequently turned into a concert film titled Renaissance: A Film and released in theaters.
