During his Coachella set, Benson Boone performed ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ alongside Queen’s Brian May.
For a mesmerizing performance of the song that featured a full choir and theatrical lights on Friday (4.11,) the 22-year-old singer was joined on stage by the legendary lead guitarist during the opening night of this year’s Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California.
Along with his iconic band’s cover, the 77-year old British musician accompanied Boone on a performance of Benson’s ‘Beautiful Things’, just hours after teasing his performance at the event and posting pictures on Instagram of them traveling to Coachella together, along with the caption:
“Look who I bumped into – on the way to the fabled Palm Springs … Maybe something will happen ?!” “Do we look happy ? !!! Gonna treasure this moment on the plane with @bensonboone – a truly golden 22 year old prodigy. I’m proud and happy to say we are now officially pals.”
In addition to his performance, Boone used his time on stage to announce his upcoming second LP ‘American Heart’, telling the audience “I’ve got one more announcement to make. This is less like one song and more like 10. My second album will be coming out June 20, 2025 and it is called ‘American Heart.’”
In a previous Boone Rolling Stone interview about his forthcoming full length, the Washington native said “A lot of it is very Bruce Springsteen, Americana, like a little more of a retro vibe. It all started with me believing in the song ‘Beautiful Things.’ Now, I have a whole album just about ready to go — and I’ve never believed so much in a body of work.”
