23-year-old singer and guitarist, David Vogel, made his mark on Tuesday (9.28) night’s episode of NBC’s The Voice, when he performed one of Ariana Grande’s signature songs during his blind audition.
From Valhalla, New York, Vogel (whose last name means “bird” in German) took flight with a country rock-edged version of Ariana’s former #1 pop single “breathin.” And while the superstar pop singer battled with her buzzer throughout the contestant’s performance she ultimately turned her chair.
“That was so beautiful,” she told the contestant. “I thought it was a really unique take. I love that you play an instrument too. I love your tone, I love your style,” Ari stated. “I’m selfishly very happy that I waited ‘til the last second because now you are mine and mine only. I’m very happy about this. I’m so excited to hopefully go all the way to the end.”
