Bocelli + Pharrell Curate Vatican Performance

A landmark musical celebration staged in the heart of Vatican City, the truly historic event featured world-renowned tenor Andrea Bocelli who co-directed and performed at the “Grace for the World” concert .

Making history as the first of its kind in St. Peter’s Square, the free concert was presented on Saturday, September 13, and streamed exclusively on Disney+.

Co-directed by Pharrell Williams, the Italian event showcased a unique blend of gospel, soul, hip-hop, pop, and classical music, featuring the likes of Jennifer Hudson, John Legend, Jelly Roll, and Angélique Kidjo, along with an emotional rendition of “Amazing Grace” by Teddy Swims and the first-ever live performance of Bocelli’s hit track “Vivo Por Ella” featuring KAROL G.

In addition to the music, the night’s festivities included reflections from a diverse group of cultural, diplomatic, and sports leaders, as well as a stunning aerial drone and light show inspired by the artistry of the Sistine Chapel.

About his involvement in the initiative, Bocelli said “As an artist, I have always believed that music is not just entertainment, but above all a universal language: a bridge capable of uniting cultures, peoples, and hearts.”

The event closed the third World Meeting on Human Fraternity, celebrating the upcoming 2025 Jubilee Year.
