Alicia Keys Awarded Dr Dre Grammy Global Impact Award

On Sunday night (2.02,) 19-time Grammy award winner Alicia Keys received the Dr. Dre Global Impact Award and clinched the win for Best Musical Theater Album (Hell’s Kitchen) during the 2025 Grammy Awards.

Initially established in 2023, the Dr. Dre Global Impact Award was recognizes artists whose influence extends far beyond music. Named after legendary rapper/writer/producer, entrepreneur and philanthropist (born Andre Romell Young,) the award celebrates artists whose musical excellence as well as their entrepreneurial achievements and philanthropic efforts have had a profound impact on a global scale.

During her acceptance speech, the superstar singer/songwriter (born Alicia Augello Cook) celebrated trailblazing female producers and the power of diversity, stating:

“This is not the time to shut down the diversity of voices.” “We’ve seen on this stage talented, hard-working people from different backgrounds with different points of view and it changes the game. DEI is not a threat, it’s a gift.”

Not the only award Alicia won during the ceremony, the musical Hell’s Kitchen, which Keys worked on for 13 years, won the Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album. She wrote the music and lyrics for the Broadway show that features hit songs from her catalogue along with new music written specifically for the theatrical production. The soundtrack album, was produced by Alicia Keys along with Adam Blackstone and Tom Kitt.
