During her recent Las Vegas residency performance, Adele tried to channel Beyonce.
On Friday (8.25,) during her Weekends With Adele show at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Nevada, the now 35-year-old UK singer took a moment during her regularly scheduled set to try, but ultimately fail, queen Bey’s “everybody on mute” challenge.
For those unaware, Beyoncé’s been challenging her Renaissance World Tour audiences to remain completely silent for a moment after she delivers the “Energy” lyric, “Look around, everybody on mute.”
Thinking it might be a good idea to experiment with the same challenge during her own show, in a fan-captured video from Adele’s performance, the UK chanteuse tells the crowd, “Everybody on mute,” but many fans are still heard chattering away. “You f—ing failed miserably,” Adele playfully chastised. “When I sing ‘everybody on mute,’ you have to be f—ing quiet.”
