Remaining calm under pressure, Jon Bon Jovi helped talk a suicidal woman off the edge of a Nashville, Tennessee bridge.
On Tuesday (9.10,) the iconic rock star was shooting a music video on the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge for his song ‘The People’s House’ (which stretches across the Cumberland River,) when he noticed a woman who had climbed over the guard railing and appeared to be ready to jump.
Video of the incident shows Bon Jovi approaching the woman, talking with her and sharing a hug after which the musician and one of his assistants helped her climb back to safety. Shortly thereafter, local police and firefighters arrived on the scene.
Officials have commended Bon Jovi for his quick thinking and tweet from the Metro Nashville Police Department, stated “A shoutout to Jon Bon Jovi and his team for helping a woman on the Seigenthaler Ped Bridge Tue night.” “Bon Jovi helped persuade her to come off the ledge over the Cumberland River to safety.”
