As part of an important charity campaign that provides accessible clean water for communities in Africa and India, some 10 years after his historic DJ set at the house of commons, renowned DJ ‘Fatboy Slim’ has sponsored a water well.
Set up by dance music charity Last Night A DJ Saved My Life (LNADJ,) the ‘Have a drink on us’ campaign works with superstar deejays to raise money for causes such as cleft lip palate surgeries, providing essential necessities to improve quality of life to communities and more. The aptly named campaign aims to provide clean water to those who need it most by building wells.
Announced on World Water Day (March 22), Norman Cook (aka Fatboy Slim) has helped the charity reach this years goal only three months into year by sponsoring their 100th well. The ‘Have a drink on us’ campaign resonates with World Water Day’s message, which recognizes that water is a basic human right which is intrinsically weaved into everyday life for everyone across the globe and should be accessible for all. The DJ’s generosity and charities hard work will have the life changing impact for Bumbo Village located in the Mpgi District, Uganda where the 100th well will be built, giving access to clean water for the 301-person community.
