Following a litany of 2020 iconic musician deaths (Bill Withers, Charlie Daniels, Charlie Pride, Eddie Van Halen, Florian Schneider (Kraftwerk), Frederick ‘Toots’ Hibbert (Toots & The Maytals), Hamilton Bohannon, Helen Reddy, John Prine, Kenny Rogers, Little Richard, Mac Davis, Manu Dibango, Ronald Bell (Kool & The Gang), the world just learned that Dr. Dre was recently hospitalized after suffering a brain aneurysm.
Born Andre Young, the mega-successful musician and businessman is currently being treated in the intensive care unit at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles in lucid and stable condition while doctors are trying to determine the cause of the bleeding.
On Tuesday night, Dr. Dre and his team sent out a statement on Instagram: “Thanks to my family, friends and fans for their interest and well wishes. I’m doing great and getting excellent care from my medical team. I will be out of the hospital and back home soon. Shout out to all the great medical professionals at Cedars. One Love!!”
This occurrence only adds to the music mogul’s recent stress including a very contentious divorce with his estranged wife Nicole who reportedly wants $2 million a month in temporary spousal support and $5 million for attorney fees. At present, Dre is supposedly paying all of her expenses and says that the attorney’s fees are outrageous having only worked on the case for a few months.
