Per the ongoing legal dispute between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni, Taylor Swift has agreed to be questioned by actor/director/producer Baldoni’s legal team about the actress and the 2024 film ‘It Ends With Us.’
Filed by Baldoni’s representatives on Thursday (9.11,) court documents revealed that Swift is set to be deposed during the week of October 20 in order to accommodate the singer’s “preexisting professional obligations,” a commitment that comes as the superstar singer/songwriter prepares to drop her twelfth studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, on October 3.
Seeking communications between Taylor and Blake, Justin first subpoenaed the Grammy award winner in May, arguing that the singer’s statements could contain evidence relating to the sexual harassment and breach of contract allegations Lively filed against Baldoni in December on 2024, as well as claims that she attempted to use Swift’s influence to gain creative control over the film.
Baldoni has since denied the allegations against him and subsequently countersued Lively for defamation and extortion.
Accusing Baldoni’s legal team of generating “tabloid clickbait,” Swift’s representatives denied that she played any part in the movie’s creative decisions, and after objecting to the subpoena as an “unwarranted fishing expedition”, Justin’s team withdrew the legal request.
Once considered close friends, Swift and Lively are rumored to have grown apart amid the legal proceedings.
Baldoni and Lively are scheduled to go to trial in March 2026.
