De La Soul Ft A Tribe Called Quest

More than three decades after recording it, on Friday (1.10) De La Soul announced that they’ll reissue their rare Clear Lake Auditorium EP

After having originally released just 500 vinyl pressings of the EP in 1994, sharing it as a promotional record for a select number of deejays, the six-track collection includes a collaboration with A Tribe Called Quest called “sh.Fe.Mc’s,” and another featuring Tito of The Fearless Four.

In addition to the forthcoming EP, De La Soul (less founding member Trugoy the Dove, who died in 2023) will being performing at Lincoln Center on January 17. They will also be featured on next month’s Peloton’s artist series, and in February they’ll release several remixes of the 3 Feet High and Rising track “Say No Go.”

In a statement about their music De La Soul’s Posdnuos said “It’s incredible to see how our music continues to resonate. From remixes and reissues to live performances, we’re excited to share this journey with fans old and new,”

De La Soul is one of the most influential hip-hop groups of all time, and after years of legal troubles due to uncleared samples in their music, their albums finally hit streaming services in 2023 . In addition to disputes with their record label, in November of 2024, the group denounced the autobiography High and Rising: A Book About De La Soul, threatening legal action against its author Marcus J. Moore.
