Dropping a hint that the iconic rockers might be back in the studio together, in a video posted to Eric Avery’s Instagram, in which he tagged in his former Jane’s Addiction bandmates Dave Navarro, drummer Stephen Perkins, the bassist wrote: “Writing some more new lines to some of Stephen’s drumming. Look forward to getting some Mr Navarro on them. 2025!”
While the post was subsequently reshared by Perkins, no further information about any collaboration has been mentioned.
2024 was quite the tumultuous year for the band, as after reforming with their original line-up including singer Perry Farrell, Jane’s Addiction released the’Imminent Redemption’ single, marking their first new music together in 34 years.
During their September show in Boston, Farrell punched Navarro in the face, that leadi to the immediate cancellation of the tour and the band’s hiatus due to “a continuing pattern of behavior and the mental health difficulties” of Farrell.
Following the initial dissolution of Jane’s Addiction, Navarro and Avery formed Deconstruction in 1993, thus the aforementioned musicians may be referring to a potential revival of that group.
