Following his string of hits this year, including “Blinding Lights,” the Doja Cat remix of “In Your Eyes” and the entire After Hours album, The Weeknd has once again struck gold with his high-level collaboration with Calvin Harris.
The new Sony Music-released tune, titled “Over Now,” is a huge switch-up for both artists as of lately as it shows both hyper stars connecting on another level of smooth R&B. The Canadian crooner details how he and a love interest will never get back together no matter how hard she tries, and how he plans to keep her away. His vocal style harkens back to earlier eras that dedicated fans haven’t heard in years. Accompanying him is Harris, who supports the message with an impeccably smooth production that alone, will take listeners’ breaths away.
In addition to the audio comes a visual that transports viewers to a virtual space that shows The Weeknd in multiple different iterations – flying through space, dancing on an island and boogeying in a club. It’s a dazzling piece that complements the recording well. Check out the entire offering for The Weeknd and Calvin Harris’ “Over Now” here.
