Two months after releasing their World War Joy album in February, The Chainsmokers announced that they’d be going on a hiatus from music and social media to begin producing their fourth studio album. Yet the duo has returned with an unexpected announcement.
Known for such massive hits as “Selfie”, “Closer”, “Something Just Like This” and more, The Chainsmokers have just produced their debut score for the upcoming film, Words on Bathroom Walls. Though no further details have been leaked fans will not have to wait long to hear what Alex and Drew have in store as Thor Freudenthal-directed film starring Charlie Plummer, AnnaSophia Robb, and Taylor Russell, and Academy Award nominee, Andy Garcí is slated for a July 31st release.
Their foray into the film business won’t be the duo’s only summer appearance as they’re also slotted to play a drive-in fundraiser in the Hamptons on July 25th, marking their first live show since their self-imposed break from music and media. Hosted at Nova’s Ark Project, the socially-distanced concert will raise donations for No Kid Hungry and the Children’s Medical Fund of New York. Until then, check out the trailer for Words on Bathroom Walls.
